Hon. Omosede Igbinedion, a prominent figure in Edo State politics, officially declared her interest for the upcoming 2024 Governorship election. The former lawmaker and learned lawyer, known for her dedication in the House of Representatives, has set her sights on steering Edo towards progress and development under the banner of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The announcement came as Hon. Omosede Igbinedion purchased the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms at the PDP Secretariat in Abuja. Flanked by party members and supporters, she spoke passionately about her vision for Edo State, emphasizing the crucial role women can play in leadership.
“I believe in the power of women to bring positive change. I am here to carry out the wishes of all sons and daughters of Edo who have reposed their trust in me,” she stated during an address to the media.
Highlighting her commitment to party welfare, Hon. Omosede Igbinedion assured that if elected, her leadership would prioritize areas such as youth and women’s empowerment, agriculture, and inclusive governance. She painted a picture of a future Edo State witnessing tremendous and continuous development.
The gubernatorial primary is scheduled for January 22, 2024, adding intensity to the upcoming political landscape. Hon. Omosede expressed gratitude to party leaders and members for their unwavering support in rebuilding the PDP in Edo State.
“Dedicating these forms to God almighty, my loving family, and supporters across Edo state and beyond. I am committed to the tremendous and continuous development of Edo state under my watch if elected by the electorates,” she affirmed.

As the campaign gears up, she declared, “The game has just begun, God is involved, and we are well-prepared for the task of governance as we seek the massive support of the Edo people in 2024.”
