The Speaker of the Cross River State House Of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem has received an award of honour from the Christian Association Of Nigeria (CAN), Akamkpa Chapter. The event was organized in celebration of Hon. Okon Nyong Owuna, the member representing Akamkpa 1 State Constituency.
Hon. Owuna, who also serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on information and Communication in the Tenth Assembly, was lauded by Speaker Ayambem as a “round peg in a round hole.” Speaking to journalists at the event, the Speaker urged the people of Akamkpa to rally behind their representative, instilling confidence that would empower them to excel in their duties to the local constituencies.
The Thanksgiving Service witnessed a gathering of prominent figures, including members of the Cross River State House Of Assembly, past and present political elites, religious groups, as well as enthusiastic supporters and well-wishers. The atmosphere was one of celebration and recognition of Hon. Owuna’s dedicated service to the community.
