The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Honorable Peter Agbe Odey, Ph.D., today flagged off the construction of a vital 5km road in the Ukelle Nation, marking a historic moment for the region. The ceremony, held in Apata, was attended by key political figures, traditional leaders, and enthusiastic community members.
The event was graced by the presence of the State Chairman of the ruling party, Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba was lauded for his exceptional leadership and performance. Also in attendance were members of the House of Assembly, both present and past commissioners, and traditional fathers, who all came together to celebrate this milestone.
In his address, Chief Amb. Asegem Emmanuel, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Timber Control (North), expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the Ijiraga Ward and the entire Ukelle Nation. “Your Excellency, what is happening here today is a dream come true for the Ukelle Nation. This 5km road, once completed, will not only improve connectivity but also pave the way for future electoral victories. By 2027, we will remind our people of this development, ensuring a 100% turnout to re-elect you and return you to Diamond Hill to continue your good works,” said Chief Emmanuel.
Chief Emmanuel also took the opportunity to thank the Governor for appointing him to serve in the current administration. “I will do my best to make you proud,” he assured. He concluded his speech with a blessing, “May God continue to bless you and your team in delivering the dividends of democracy to the good people of Cross River State.”
