Hon Brian Odey representing Yala 1 State Constituency in the Cross River House of Assembly have commended Governor Bassey Otu for embarking on road construction in Yala local government area.

The commendation was made during the ground breaking flag off of the construction of Yahe -Ebo- Wanakom -Wanikade -Wanihem Benue Border road where Odey said the people were overwhelmed with joy on the Governor’s intervention on the deplorable road which has been abandoned for decades.

According to Hon Brian, the communities were cut off from accessing other surrounding areas as well as evacuating their farm produce, especially during raining season due to the bad state of the road. He praised the governor’s proactive intervention to construct the road to enhance easy movement of the people and transportation of their farm produce which will boost their economic growth and livelihood.

“For decades, this road have been abandoned. No governor in the State has ever come to our rescue except Governor Otu. We are happy that the Governor has fulfilled his promise to construct road that links Yahe -Ebo- Wanakom -Wanikade -Wanihem Benue Border communities, a promise he made recently. We thank him for fulfilling his promise and we assure him of our continuous loyalty and support for his visionary leadership, transparency and accountability”.

Gov Otu represented by his deputy, Rt. (Hon) Peter Odey, Phd said the historic groundbreaking ceremony has been strategically planned and approved by his administration to not only boost commercial activities in the area but also signify the commencement of vital relief efforts for the populace. This initiative aims to improve connectivity and accessibility for local communities in the Northern Senatorial District of the state.

Hon. Brian further commended the Governor for the historic event which is critical to the economic growth and development of the area. He also acknowledged the Governor’s “People First Mantra” which is a testament to his unwavering determination and commitment to the welfare of the people.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including government officials, traditional leaders, and stakeholders.
