The Deputy Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon Sylvester Agabi Jnr on Wednesday joined notable leaders of thought in the state to felicitate with the state Governor, His Excellency Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu and his Deputy, Rt Hon Peter Odey PhD on their one year anniversary in office.
Hon Agabi Jnr, who is representing Obudu State Constituency in the assembly in a congratulatory message to the Governor Otu and his Deputy Rt Hon Odey noted that their 365 days in office were marked by an unpresentable development drive and an impressive approach to governance.
It would be recalled that, Governor Otu and his Deputy Rt Hon Odey assumed office on May 29, 2023 in an elaborate inaugural ceremony, ushering the season of sweetness to the State.
According to him, “Governor Otu and deputy Governor Odey have brought finesse to the governance of Cross River State, unifying Stakeholder across the state carrying allow along in delivering his People First Agenda programmes and projects.”
He commended the Governor for his “sincere leadership and broad-minded approach towards restoring Cross River State to its lost glory and laying the foundation for lasting growth and development.”
The Deputy Speaker said despite the meagre resources coming to the state, the Governor has showed uncommon leadership in prudent management of state resources in addressing infrastructure deficit and recurrent expenditure and other basic needs of government.
Hon Agabi Jnr assured the Governor of sustained support as he continues in his transformative governance for the good people Cross River State.
He praised the Governor for restoring peace in the assembly and giving members a sense of.belonging in statecraft, adding that democracy is working in Cross River State in the interest of Cross Riverians.
It is my firm belief that the next 365 days will be more successful with the firm foundation already laid and the determination of Your Excellencies to rebuild and reposition Cross River State.
