Today is a beehive of activities in Yala local government area with the official flag -off of the Akreha -Okpoku bridge- Yache -Alifokpa road project, phase 1 by His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Otu.
Hon Brian Odey heartily rejoices with the good people of Yache on this momentous occasion and epoch making event. He commends Gov Otu for the speedy approval of the project which will be constructed in phases beginning with Phase 1 cutting through the Akreha-Okpoku bridge to the Alifokpa-Yache Benue Border road.
The flag-off by the Governor represented by his Deputy, Rt Hon Peter Odey is part of activities to mark the decision of the State Executive Council a few months ago where the Governor vowed to continue to justify the confidence reposed in him and his administration by the electorate.
The member of parliament reiterated that performing the official ground breaking today in Yache is an outstanding testament, performance and visionary leadership style of Gov Otu, calling on the people of the state to continue to give him maximum support.
Brian described the project which has been abandoned for several years as the best legacy to bequeath to Yala people, particularly the good people of Yache, hailing the governor for moving in that direction.
“This project would go a long way to improve socio-economic activities, enhance development and safety of road users in the axis with consequent improved standard of living. It would equally ease the perennial hardships by road users and reduce travel time along the road and environs with improved accessibility and agricultural development leading to increasing productivity and income” Hon Brian said.
Hon Brian further said it is no longer news that the present administration of Governor Otu is breaking new ground towards on rural road construction thus repositioning the sector for better performance.
“This is evident in today’s ground breaking ceremony ,” he said.
