The Senate Ad-Hoc Committee on Incessant Crude Oil Theft has announced that its public hearing on the investigation into the persistent and damaging activities of crude oil theft in the Niger Delta will hold on Thursday, 15th and Friday, 16th May, 2025.

The hearing will take place at the Senate Conference Room 022, Senate New Building, National Assembly Complex, Abuja. Proceedings are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and 10:00 a.m. on Friday.

The Chairman of the Committee, Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, disclosed that the hearing aims to engage relevant stakeholders in identifying the root causes, perpetrators, and enablers of crude oil theft, which continues to undermine Nigeria’s economy and security.

Stakeholders participating in the hearing are required to submit thirty-five (35) hard copies and one soft copy of their memoranda to the Committee Secretariat located in Room 2.2, White House, Senate, on or before Thursday, 15th May, 2025.

In addition to stakeholder submissions, the Committee is also calling on members of the public to provide credible information regarding illegal oil bunkering and related activities. Such information, it noted, will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and may be rewarded.

For further inquiries, stakeholders may contact the Committee Secretariat via telephone at 08033547156 or by email at senateadhoccrudeoiltheft@gmail.com.

Senator Nwoko reaffirmed the Committee’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and justice in its efforts to curb the economic sabotage caused by crude oil theft.
