Senator (Assoc. Prof.) Stephen Odey, the Oyorgu 1 of Yache Nation, on Saturday received a group of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his residence in Okuku, Yala Local Government Area.
The defectors, led by Faith Agbruga Felix, were officially received by the APC Chairman of Yache Ward, Mr. Julius Igbadu, in the presence of Senator Odey, the Yache political leader, and other notable stakeholders. Among those in attendance were Hon. John Monday Odo, Director of the Cross River State Road Maintenance Agency, and Hon. Idiku David, former Secretary of Council, Yala LGA.
In his remarks, Senator Odey commended the group for their decision to align with the ruling APC. He described their defection as timely and wise, emphasizing the importance of loyalty, discipline, and active participation in party affairs. He assured them of equal opportunities and urged them to contribute meaningfully to the party’s growth and development in Yache and beyond.
As a gesture of support, Senator Odey presented the new members with quality wrappers and a cash donation to support their transportation. He also facilitated their formal registration as APC members, encouraging them to remain steadfast and committed to the ideals of the party.
