The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, alongside the Leader of the Northern Cross River Coalition (NORTHCCO), High Chief Higgins Peters, on Saturday, April 19, 2025, paid a strategic visit to the Chairman of the Central Working Committee (CWC) of NORTHCCO, Rt. Hon. Legor Idagbo, at his country home in Ijibor, Bekwarra Local Government Area.
The high-powered delegation was warmly received by Rt. Hon. Idagbo and members of the community, as the visit marked a significant step in consolidating political unity and reawakening grassroots mobilization ahead of the upcoming NORTHCCO General Assembly. Addressing youth groups gathered at the venue, the leaders emphasized the need for renewed commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the broader vision of the Northern Cross River Coalition. They described the coalition as a unifying platform poised to unlock new opportunities and drive inclusive development across the region.
In their separate remarks, Deputy Governor Odey and High Chief Peters urged the youths to remain steadfast, focused, and politically active, stressing that the time has come for Northern Cross River to take its rightful place in the socio-political landscape of the state. They further encouraged mass attendance at the upcoming NORTHCCO General Assembly scheduled for Monday, December 21, 2025, at the Ogoja Stadium by 9:00 am, where the much-anticipated “Ogoja Declaration” will be unveiled. The event is expected to mark a major turning point in the coalition’s roadmap for regional advancement and political consolidation.
