The Leader of the Bekwarra Legislative Council, Hon. Thompson Adie, has dismissed reports circulating online that the Chairman of Bekwarra Local Government, Hon. Theresa Ushie, has been impeached. Speaking to journalists in Bekwarra, Hon. Adie clarified that there is no such move within the council, emphasizing that any internal disagreements are being addressed through appropriate channels.
In an interview with NTA Ogoja, the legislative leader, who represents Ukpah Ward, assured the public that the council remains united and committed to the progress of Bekwarra. While acknowledging that differences may exist, he stressed that they are being resolved amicably in the interest of the people.
Hon. Adie urged councilors, stakeholders, and residents to disregard the false reports and remain calm, assuring them that governance in Bekwarra remains stable. He reaffirmed Hon. Ushie’s leadership, urging her to remain steadfast in delivering on her mandate in line with the “People First” agenda.
“We stand firmly with our Chairman, Hon. Theresa Ushie, as she continues to serve the people of Bekwarra. There is no crisis, and we urge everyone to focus on development rather than distractions,” he stated.
The Bekwarra Legislative Council’s position puts to rest speculations surrounding the local government’s leadership, reinforcing confidence in the administration’s commitment to service delivery.
