The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator (Associate Prof) Stephen Odey, Ph.D., has congratulated Governor Bassey Edet Otu on receiving the Daily Independent Newspaper Best Governor of the Year Award for Economic Transformation.
The award was presented at a ceremony in Lagos, where the Governor was represented by Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Peter Odey. Senator Odey, who attended as part of the state delegation, commended the Governor’s achievements, stating that the recognition reaffirms his administration’s transformative impact across multiple sectors.
“This award is a resounding endorsement of your outstanding contributions to the development of Cross River State, permeating all areas,” Senator Odey said. “I strongly believe that this acknowledgment will galvanize Your Excellency to heighten your visionary leadership, catalyzing more meaningful progress in economic expansion, infrastructural enhancement, and human capital development. Governor Otu’s administration has been focused on economic growth, infrastructure development, and human capital investment, aligning with his People’s First governance philosophy. The award further cements his status as a leader driving progress in Cross River State.
