The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full operational approval to the University of Education and Entrepreneurship, Akamkpa, officially recognizing it as a higher institution in Nigeria.
The Certificate of Recognition (CoR) was presented today at the NUC Headquarters in Abuja by the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, alongside his management team. Receiving the certificate on behalf of Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, was the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Anthony Owan Enoh, with Commissioner for Education, Senator (Associate Prof.) Stephen Odey, Ph.D., and other state representatives in attendance.
Speaking at the event, Senator Odey praised Governor Otu’s dedication and drive in securing full approval and autonomy for the institution.
“I am happy this approval is happening during my tenure as Education Commissioner,” Senator Odey stated, assuring that all approved academic programs will be fully implemented to develop skilled professionals for the state and the country.
He further revealed that the NUC has officially communicated the approval to relevant agencies, including JAMB, TETFUND, NELFUND, and NYSC, paving the way for the institution’s integration into Nigeria’s higher education system.
