When the thick clouds of the political firmament opened on Tuesday, November 12th to usher in the new sheriffs in the Osadebe Government House of Edo State, the roll call of the VVIPs that came to grace the August occasion in November were the movers and shakers, the pump and pageantry, the high and mighty and the people that matters within, outside and round about the political circumference of Nigeria.
The President and Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H. E. Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR was was ably represented by the Vice President, H. E. Sen. Kashim Shetima GCON National Chairman of APC and his NWC members, The Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio GCON, represented by his deputy, Senator Barau Jibrin and numerous Senators, Governors of APC extraction led by the Chairman of Nigeria Governor’s Forum / Governor of Kwara, Abdulrahman Abdul…. including the Sweetest Prince, the Governor of Cross River State, H. E. Sen Prince Bassey Otu who Chaired the APC Primaries committee and the Main National Gubernatorial Campaign council, the Forum of States Chairmen of APC in Nigeria ably led by our workaholic Political Evangelist, Alphonsus Ogar Eba esq. JP, ministers, party stalwarts and several dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria were all in Benin city to celebrate with the people for the sweet victory.
It will be recalled that our own Cross River State Governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu played a major role from the Primaries of APC where he was the chairman that returned Sen. Monday Okpebholo. Again, Sen. Otu spoke loudly and made the fervent declaration at the South South APC Zonal Caucus Meeting in Calabar where he committed everyone to work for the victory of APC in Edo as Cross River State cannot afford to remain as a lone voice or political orphan.
One man who was the first to take this command of Governor Otu and acted on it with his whole body, weight, might and spirit was Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba the Cross River State APC chairman. No doubt, the energy level, strategy and , that our foremost political Evangelist brought into the Edo State Election and his broad war chest at the collation center in Benin city that night contributed greatly.
It was therefore a cheering news to see the new Governor giving the Cross River State APC chairman such well deserving attention, commendation and special recognition at the Governor’s inauguration ball.
What is now clear to everyone is that Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba has launched himself into National Politics and has also remained focused with his eyes always on the ball. Despite the ceaseless distraction from political bitter minds, He is constantly getting results and moving ahead of his adversaries.
From Benin City, the energy filled chairman drove by road to Akure yesterday for the Grand finale of the APC Campaign where he represented our Governor, Sen H. E. Sen Prince Bassey Otu, even as he is expected to remain in Akure until after the election when he hopes to brings victory back by the grace of God.
When you study the simless way and manner this great son of Imaje – Yala of Cross River State goes about in getting results and always attributing all his achievements to God’s benevolence and grace, you can only desire to tap from his grace. No doubt, he is called the man that is ” ” ‘Blessed From Above.’
He is truly a Prophet of God that has so much honor but from his home. It is therefore not surprising when people he has used his exalted office as State Chairman to give political prominence turning round to gang up against him in the name of local politics, you then know that politics is not for the weak hearts as the man OKADIGBO always returns good for evil because in his word, he says the best way to use power is to restrain oneself from bringing the weight of your power on your adversary.
In the words of the Political Evangelist, ” The message of my Political Evangelism is PLUG ( Peace, Love, Unity and Growth), Let your enemy live long to see that you are truly God’s anointed and no one can touch or do you any harm because it is written that any one who fights a man with grace will always be disgraced.
In just 6 weeks, Alphonsus, the man with grace worked behind the scene to ensure a hitch free APC Local Government Primaries and Election where his party won 18 LGA chairmen and 196 Councillors. He quietly and firmly ensured that through political balancing on gender, equity, zoning, etc brought about the emergence of numerous chairmen, vice chairmen, leadership and principal officers of legislative Council without boasting because according to him, power comes from God and his position as State Chairman is to do the will of God for the good of everyone.
Nothing can be further from this truth than the firm position he maintained in ensuring that the chosen son of the marginalized People of Gabu ward, Hon. Goddy Odama emerged as Vice Chairman of Yala LGA council.
While in far away Benin City, they gathered again to undermine him but he spoke once and everyone heard twice that the leniency of the State Chairman cannot and should not be seen as weakness. Wednesday November 12th therefore became a day that his audacity deflated every egoistic plans and sophistry of some persons which led to the emergence of a young female councillor from Echumofana Ward as Leader of Yala Legislative Council, therefore ensuring gender balance and power balance between West and East of Yala speaking dialect of Yala LGA.
I have worked closely with Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba for almost Ten years now, he is one man that you cannot undermine, he is a dogged fighter for equity and justice, he is one of the most stubborn and most gentle politician I have known. He applies this virtue appropriately to every given situation. Fear him or love him, one thing you cannot take away from him is that he has a star and style that no one can diminish or easily copy and maintain same strength, vigor, vitality, versatility and composure.
He is a rising star with high illumination, he is a moving train that has left the train station and is headed to his Eldorado.
Our prayers can only add more to him to do better but our envy and hatred has as well failed to bring him down but has rather lifted him far to his dream station. Nothing more to argue, Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba, Na man you be!!!. You are truly Blessed from above.
