The Paramount Ruler of Obanliku Local Government, His Roya Majesty, Amb. Uchua Amos Item has expressed gratitude and commendation for the late RT. Hon. Dr. Joseph Wayas’s burial committee’s efforts and Governor Bassey Otu’s determination to give the late former senate president a dignified burial.
HRM Uchua Amos Item, made the commendation while receiving the Burial Committee of RT. Hon Dr. Joseph Wayas GCON, which was appointed by the Governor of Cross River State, at his residence in Sankwala.
Uchua Amos Item also commended the committee for dispelling misconceptions about Dr. Wayas’s burial and assured the committee of Obanliku’s readiness to host the world for the burial.
The committee, headed by Papa. Dorn Cklaimz Enamhe consisting of various dignitaries, expressed gratitude for the warm reception by Uchua Amos and sought the royal father’s support and guidance for all guests during the burial activities.
The Chairman of the subcommittee, Justice Elias Abua, praised the convener and emphasized the significance of the repatriation of Wayas’s remains, seeking the cooperation of Obanliku indigenes to ensure the committee’s success.
Following that, the committee conducted an on-site assessment in Sankwala, the headquarters of Obanliku Local Government, specifically at Dr. Joseph Wayas’ old residence in Sankwala Square and his new site near the Ranch highway, where he will be laid to rest.
