The Faculty of Engineering, University of Cross River State UNICROSS held its maiden Alumni Homecoming in Calabar, Cross River State. Thursday June 27th, 2024, was a momentous day for Hon Engr Thomas Aruku, Member representing Ogoja State Constituency, as he received a prestigious Alumnus Award at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Cross River State maiden Alumni Homecoming event. The award was presented by the Dean Faculty of Education Prof Afebende in recognition of Aruku’s;

The event held at the Kolanut Event Centre, Barracks Road, Calabar, marked the launch of a 1000-seating capacity Lecture Auditorium and awards ceremony. Hon Aruku, an esteemed alumnus of UNICROSS, was honored for his outstanding contributions to the association, dedication to the development of Cross River State, and vibrant leadership in education, engineering, and public service.
As a member of the Alumni, Honorable Aruku has been instrumental to the success of various initiatives and projects, demonstrating his commitment to the growth and progress of the University and the State. His leadership, hard work and vision have inspired a new generation of leaders, earning him accolades in many sectors, education, engineering, and public service. Also solidifying his position as a shining example for effective leadership and alumni engagement.
In his acceptance speech, Honorable Aruku expressed gratitude to the University of Cross River State and the Alumni, reaffirming his commitment to continued service and dedication to the state’s progress.
