THE Deputy Minority Leader of the Cross River House of Assembly, Hon Brian Odey has commended the infrastructural drive which Governor Bassey Otu has brought to bear on the State since the inception of his administration.
Speaking in his office in Calabar, Hon Brian, said one could see across the state several development projects the governor has been delivering for the well-being of the citizens of the state and commended him for his development initiatives, including approvals for infrastructural interventions and construction of some key roads in the three senatorial districts of the state.
Odey representing Yala 1 State Constituency stated this yesterday on the occasion of his birthday anniversary where he lauded the Governor for his leadership strides having prioritized the needs of his people as demonstrated in his ingenuity of initiating major life-touching projects within his first year in office.
“I want to thank His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Otu for the approvals granted for development initiatives, including infrastructural interventions and construction of some key projects in the three senatorial districts of the state; particularly the construction of Akreha-Okpoku bridge, Yache -Alifokpa 3km road (Phase 1) and the 5km Yahe- Wanokom- Wanikade-Benue Border road (Phase 1) in Yala LGA”.
Odey who is the House Committee Chairman on Public Accounts acknowledged Governor Otu’s commitment to touching lives by improving the standard of living of the people with his “People First Mantra Agenda”.
He said a government that is committed to infrastructural development, and has resolved to always put the people first irrespective of meager resources is worthy of commendation.
Hon Brian expressed satisfaction at the several ongoing road projects in the state and commended the state government despite the current economic downturn affecting revenues inflow into the state coffers; saying these projects when completed would bring significant development to the state.
