The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Stephen Odey Ph D, received the Association of Retired Inspectors of Education (ARIED) Calabar zone, earlier today in his office.
The Association was led by its Chairman, Mr Onum Ibe Peter, who on behalf of his group, congratulated the Commissioner for his well deserved appointment, expressing confidence that the education sector is entrusted into capable hands, he then stressed that they are retired but not tired and are ready to contribute their wealth of knowledge to the development of the State education sector.
The Commissioner, and his Management Staff warmly received them and appreciated them for the visit, noting that their wealth of knowledge and experience will be much needed as he charged the retired but not tired Inspectors to get their colleagues in other zones inducted, to make it easy whenever the need arises. He further applauded them for their unity and assured them that their services will be needed because they are now a reservoir of knowledge and he won’t hesitate to contact them in due time.
Finally the Commissioner emphasised that the State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, is determined to transform the State education sector and he will not compromise standard, but will do everything humanly possible to make sure the right thing is done in the sector.
