Gov. Otu Preaches Peace, Love, and Unity at Ukelle New Yam Festival

The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, has called on the people of Ukelle Nation to embrace peace, love, and unity as a foundation for progress and development.

Governor Otu, who was represented by the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, made this call today during the Ukelle New Yam Festival held at Comprehensive Secondary School, Nfuma, South Ukelle Yala Local Government Area.

Addressing the youths and elders of the community, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering on its campaign promises across every part of the state.

“My message to the Ukelle people today is simple, let us live in peace, show love, and stay united. Development cannot thrive where there is division,” Otu said. “I want to assure you that my administration has projects ongoing in every local government, and we will continue until we fulfill the People-First Mantra that we promised you.”

The Governor further prayed for divine blessings upon the Ukelle land, noting that their agricultural strength is vital to the state’s growth.

“God will continue to bless the land of Ukelle with bountiful harvests. Your strength in farming is not just for your community, but for the entire Cross River State. With peace and unity, you will continue to reap the rewards of your hard work,” he added.

Speaker Ayambem, while delivering the Governor’s message, commended the people of Ukelle for preserving their cultural heritage and assured them of the government’s continuous partnership in community development.
