Ambassador Emmanuel Asegem, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Cross River State on Timber Control (North), has felicitated with the Ukelle Nation on the celebration of the 2025 New Yam Festival, urging them to uphold peace and unity for the progress of their community.
In his goodwill message, Asegem expressed gratitude to God for the season of abundance and for blessing the land with fruitful harvests.
“This year’s New Yam Festival is not just a celebration of harvest, but a reminder of God’s showers of blessings upon our people. We have every reason to be thankful,” he said.
He further stressed the importance of peace and communal harmony as prerequisites for growth and development, cautioning against division and rancor.
“No society can truly thrive in the absence of peace. As a people, we must embrace love, sacrifice, and unity if we want meaningful development in Ukelle and beyond,” Ambassador Asegem stated.
Reiterating his commitment to the welfare of his people, Asegem also called on the Ukelle nation to continue to stand firmly behind the administration of Governor Bassey Edet Otu, whom he described as a leader determined to deliver the People’s First Mandate.
“Governor Otu’s vision for Cross River State is people-driven. I urge the Ukelle people to remain steadfast in their support so that together, we can witness the full realization of his mandate,” he added.
