UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP GOVERNING COUNCIL PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO CROSS RIVER COMMISSIONER FOR EDUCATION

Professor Susan Etim, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Education and Entrepreneurship Akamkpa, led a delegation of UEE management, including Professor Patrick Asuquo, Vice Chancellor, Ambassador Jammy Egbe, Registrar, and members of the University’s Governing Council, on a courtesy call to Senator Associate Professor Stephen Odey, Commissioner for Education, Cross River State, to foster a spirit of collaboration and mutual support.

Professor Etim and Professor Asuquo expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Commissioner for his pivotal role in establishing the University and for his ongoing commitment to its growth. They shared the University’s remarkable progress, highlighting its five faculties and ambitious plans for expansion, while also engaging in a constructive discussion on challenges such as student accommodations.

Associate Professor Stephen Odey, Education Commissioner, congratulated the University team on their impressive achievements, particularly the recent maiden students matriculation, emphasizing the importance of cultivating students’ entrepreneurial skills and providing staff training to ensure a stable academic calendar, facilitate certificate availability, and mobilize students for NYSC at the appropriate time. His Excellency, Senator Apostle Prince Bassey Edet Otu’s unwavering commitment to transforming the Education sector in the State is highly commendable, and the Ministry will continue to provide steadfast support and synergy with the University to achieve its objectives. The Permanent Secretary, Barrister Francis Oyije and Directors of the Ministry of Education were present.
