The Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko, has extended warm greetings to Nigerian workers on the occasion of the 2025 International Workers’ Day.
In a goodwill message issued on Wednesday, Senator Nwoko commended the resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions of Nigerian workers to the growth and stability of the nation. He acknowledged that despite prevailing economic and infrastructural challenges, Nigerian workers have continued to show remarkable commitment to duty and national development.
“As we mark this year’s Workers’ Day, I salute the courage and perseverance of our workforce, whose tireless efforts remain the backbone of our economy. From the civil service to the private sector, and across industries, your sacrifice and patriotism do not go unnoticed,” Senator Nwoko stated.
He reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for policies and legislation that enhance workers’ welfare, improve labour conditions, and ensure fair remuneration. As Chairman of the Senate Adhoc Committee on Crude Oil Theft, he also highlighted the importance of protecting Nigeria’s resources to ensure sustainable development and job creation.
Senator Nwoko further called on employers, both public and private, to prioritize the dignity of labour and uphold the rights and wellbeing of their employees. He urged Nigerian workers to continue to uphold the values of diligence, honesty, and unity in the pursuit of national progress.
“Let us use this occasion to renew our collective resolve to build a nation where hard work is rewarded, and every Nigerian can thrive with dignity,” he concluded.
