Amb. Asegem Emmanuel Endorses Otu/Odey 2027 Ticket at Northern Cross River Coalition Assembly

Chief Ambassador Asegem Emmanuel, the Senior Special Assistant on Timber Control (North), has rated the performance of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, at an outstanding 700% within his first 23 months in office. He made the bold statement today during the 2025 Northern Cross River Coalition General Assembly held in Ogoja.

Addressing a packed audience of political stakeholders, traditional rulers, youth leaders, and community representatives, Chief Amb. Asegem applauded Governor Otu’s administration for what he described as a “remarkable turnaround” in governance, infrastructure, economic empowerment, and people-oriented policies across the state.

“Within just 23 months, His Excellency has delivered 700% progress, and I have no doubt he will complete it to 1000% by the end of 2031,” he declared to loud applause.

He highlighted key achievements of the administration, including road infrastructure across the Northern Cross River, improved healthcare access, education reforms, and enhanced security coordination. According to him, these strides reflect the true spirit of the “People First” agenda and show a clear commitment to inclusive development.

Chief Asegem also used the occasion to throw his full weight behind the governor’s second-term ambition, officially endorsing Senator Prince Bassey Otu and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, for another tenure.

“The synergy between His Excellency and Rt. Hon. Peter Odey is unmatched. Their leadership is visionary, united, and result-driven. Cross River needs continuity, and I fully endorse them for a second term,” he said.

The Northern Cross River Coalition General Assembly, known for shaping the political direction in the region, was charged with energy as several participants echoed Chief Asegem’s sentiments. His endorsement is seen as a strong message of unity and support from Northern Cross River heading into the 2027 electoral season.
