Bekwarra Council Chair, Hon. Theresa Ushie refutes impeachment claims

The Chairman of Bekwarra Local Government Area, Hon. Theresa Ushie, has strongly dismissed rumors of her impeachment, describing them as baseless fabrications aimed at distracting the people from the administration’s developmental strides. Hon. Ushie remains resolute in delivering the People First agenda in alignment with the vision of His Excellency, the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Bassey Otu.

Speaking in response to the viral misinformation, Hon. Ushie assured the people of Bekwarra that the council remains intact and fully operational. She urged residents to disregard the false reports and warned against the spread of fake news designed to create unnecessary tension.

“There is no crisis in Bekwarra. The council is functioning smoothly, and we are focused on governance, not distractions. I remain the duly elected Chairman, and my commitment to the people remains unwavering,” she declared.

The Bekwarra Legislative Council, led by Hon. Thompson Adie, also reaffirmed Hon. Ushie’s position, emphasizing that no impeachment proceedings have taken place. The council leader called for calm, assuring stakeholders that any internal matters within the council are being handled through appropriate channels.

Hon. Ushie charged those spreading misinformation to desist, noting that such actions only serve to mislead the public and disrupt progress. She reiterated her dedication to advancing Bekwarra’s development, urging residents to remain steadfast in their support for the government’s agenda.
