Sen. Odey Receives Chieftaincy Titles from Ewor Clan, Reaffirms Commitment to Development

A delegation from the Ewor Clan paid a courtesy visit to Senator Stephen Odey, Oyorgu 1 of Yache Nation, at his Okuku Yala residence. The delegation was led by the Obadabada of Ewor Clan, Elder Moses Odey, and Hon. Christopher Mohie, Councilor representing Yache Ward.

Accompanied by Elder Chris Idu, Hon. Joe Idu, Engineer Michael Agu, and several elders, chiefs, youths, and women of the clan, the delegation reaffirmed their total support, loyalty, and dedication to Senator Odey. They expressed gratitude for the Councilor produced from their clan, commended the ongoing Yache-Alifokpa road and Akreha bridge constructions, and acknowledged various infrastructural and human capital development projects in their community. They also denounced all divisive tendencies moving forward.

In recognition of his contributions, the people of Ewor Clan honoured Senator Odey with chieftaincy titles, including “Ogbaje Wokú Bokú Sukò” and “Yela 1 of Yache” (Pathfinder and Light Bearer of the People). Speaking on behalf of the clan, Comrade Albert Ojeka expressed his desire to align himself with Senator Odey’s leadership, recalling his earlier visit on February 15, 2025, where he pledged total loyalty to the senator after witnessing the transformational leadership taking place in Yache.

Hon. Idiku David, former Secretary of Council, Yala LGA, lauded the Ewor Clan for their unity and urged them to continue supporting Senator Odey’s exemplary leadership. Similarly, Hon. John Monday Odo encouraged the Yache people to rally behind initiatives that promote human capital and infrastructural development.

Welcoming the delegation, Senator Odey expressed deep appreciation for the honour and support, emphasizing the importance of unity and peace. He encouraged continued efforts in mobilizing community members to sustain development and avoid actions that could disrupt harmony. He also urged the youth to remain focused, as more community-driven projects are in the pipeline.

As a gesture of support, Senator Odey presented a brand-new motorcycle to the Obadabada of Ewor Clan, Elder Moses Odey, to ease his mobility. The visit concluded with the Ewor Clan delegation offering symbolic gifts, including a live goat, yam tubers, and palm wine, as a token of appreciation to their son and leader.
