In a bid to maintain peace and stability, Chief Amb. Asegem Emmanuel, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Cross River State on Timber Control (North), met with the youths, chiefs, and elders of the Ijiraga community earlier today. The meeting was held amidst rising tensions and ongoing protests in neighbouring states.
Chief Asegem appealed to the community not to get involved in the protests, emphasizing the importance of unity and calm during these times. He assured the attendees of His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Otu’s commitment to the People’s First Agenda, which aims to prioritize the needs and welfare of the citizens of Cross River State.
Highlighting the achievements of Governor Otu’s administration within the first year and two months, Chief Asegem noted significant progress in various sectors, including infrastructure development, healthcare improvements, and educational advancements. He praised the governor’s dedication to the people of Cross River State and urged the community to continue supporting his administration.
In addition to discussing state-level progress, Chief Asegem also encouraged the youths and elders to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu. He outlined some of the key accomplishments of President Tinubu’s administration within its first year and two months, citing economic growth, enhanced security measures, and social welfare programs as notable achievements.
Chief Asegem’s visit to Ijiraga aimed to foster a sense of community and cooperation, reassuring the residents that their concerns are being addressed at both the state and federal levels. His appeal for peace and support for ongoing government initiatives was met with positive responses from the community leaders and youth representatives present at the meeting as they assured that the youths of Ijiriga community cannot afford to see another protest like that of the ENDSARS which led to the destruction of lives and properties.
