…meets Obudu Youths, HOLGA, Hausa/Fulani community
The Deputy Speaker, Cross River State House of Assembly and member representing the good people of Obudu State Constituency, Hon. Sylvester Agabi Jnr , has appealed to his constituents not to take part in the planned nationwide hardship protest.
Hon Sylvester, who stated this during a Town Hall Meeting with the youth and other stakeholders at the Civic Center in Obudu, he advised that protest is not the best option to address the present economic situation in the country.
This is just as the Deputy Speaker in his meeting with the Head of Administration of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) of Obudu LGA and solicited for their support and cooperation to intervene in preaching peace to the people on why protest is never the best option.
He also met with the Hausa community and urge them to shun protest and support the government. He was received by His Royal Highness, Alh. Kasimu Ali Haruna, Sarkin Hausa Hausawa Obudu Cross River State.
Hon. Agabi appeal to his people to embrace peace and dialogue in resolving their differences with the government at all levels.
The soft spoken deputy speaker , acknowledged the frustration of the people over the current economic hardship in the country.
He insisted that “peace and dialogue are the only paramount instruments for resolving our differences and addressing our grievances.
Hon. Agabi assured that the 10th Cross River State House of Assembly is proactive and dedicated to the plight and concerns of Cross Riverains and committed to support the People First agenda of Cross River State Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, to address concerns of the people that have necessitated the planned nationwide protest;.
“We firmly believe in constructive engagement with the government, rather than confrontation, and dialogue is the most effective means of achieving our objectives and propelling our nation towards stability and prosperity,” he added.
