C’River: Civil Service Chair Directs Withdrawal Of Fake Promotion Letters Issued By Uko Inaku

The Chairman of Cross River Civil Service Commission, Sir Maurice Effiwat has directed Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the state to dishonour what he termed ‘fraudulent’ promotion letters signed and issued by his suspended predecessor, Mr. Uko Inaku.

In a letter signed by himself and dated July 17, 2024, the Commission Chairman said, “The attention of the Civil Service Commission has been drawn to promotion letters purportedly issued from this office and signed by the erstwhile chairman that are still being received in the various MDAs of the State.”

Continuing, it read, “The Commission frowns at that fraudulent development and hereby seeks the withdrawal of all such letters received by MDAs from Wednesday 13th March, 2024 to date, for perusal.

“All MDAS are by this circular advised to dishonour such letters as they are not only fake but an attempt to also criminalize the service.
