The Member representing Yala 1 State Constituency, Hon Odey Brian says the need to interact and interface with constituents with a view to having a good knowledge of sectorial analysis in his Constituency is of paramount interest to him.
He stated this recently in a meeting with Yala 1 constituents, Ward Coordinators, Polling Unit Agents and other stakeholders at Okpoma in Yala LGA.
The meeting which was summoned at the instance of the lawmaker, was meant to give an account of his stewardship and to appreciate their support thus far. He expressed gratitude with the efforts he has put in place in serving his constituents since 2023 when he was elected into office as a Member, adding that he is determined to attract projects to his people for sustainable growth and development.
“I have always believed that every elected official is an employee of the people who through the power of their thumbs, empowered him or her to hold power in trust for them. It follows therefore that as a responsible employee, every elected official must from time to time go back to his employers and render a transparent account of stewardship and appreciation”, he said.
Odey said he is holding the engagement because he is a servant of the people, and it is mandatory for him to dutifully account to his people at all times.
Meanwhile, the Yala Labour Party Chairman, Mr Oko Godwin Atiku has expressed confidence in the capacity of the Deputy Minority Leader and Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts, Hon Brian Odey. Ariku who spoke on the sideline of the meeting said Brian’s performances so far is commendable and worthy of emulation.
Amongst other things, the Honorable Member used the benefit of the meeting to redeem the cash he pledged and whilst also reassuring everyone of proactive representation.
