Easter: PFN Publicity Secretary Sues for Peace, Compassion

As Christians across all over the world celebrate the death and resurrection of the Saviour Jesus Christ, presiding Minister of the Christian Central Chapel International and National Publicity Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Amb. Bishop Dr. Emmah Gospel Isong, has called on all christian faithfuls to imbibe the virtues of peace, love, sacrifice and forgiveness which according to him signifies the core values of Easter.

The PFN Publicity Secretary who made the call in an Easter felicitation, said Easter represents a significant moment in our lives as Christians and that without deep reflection on its central theme of sacrifice and compassion, the celebration will amount to a mere hollow ritual.

Bishop Emmah Isong noted that in many ways, the society must imbibe the culture of compassion as a way to internalise and experience the inner soul of the other person so that humanity can thrive.

According to him, “With the compassion which Christ demonstrated by laying down his life for us on the cross, we should indeed, replicate this to mankind and continue to sustain it now and in the years to come, adding that “the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has brought a refreshing dawn for mankind and redefined the virtues of selflessness and forgiveness.”

While wishing Christians a hitch-free Easter celebration, Bishop Isong urged all to be law abiding citizens and remain in the mood of prayers for the collective peace of Cross River State and indeed, Nigeria as it is the only country to call ours.
