The State Executive Committee members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Cross River State on Friday reaffirm their vote of confidence on the State Chairman, Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq, JP during it’s weekly meeting at the State Secretariat in Calabar.

The meeting which has almost all the members in attendance pledged their undiluted support throughout the tenure.

It would be recalled that the State Executive Committee members had penultimate week passed a vote of confidence on the state chairman and reiterated their loyalty to the leader of the leader of the party and State Governor, His Excellency Sen Prince Bassey Otu.

Earlier, the party haf in a statement by the Acting Publicity Secretary, Hon. Emmanuel Edem Inyang JP, debunked the purported suspension of the state party by what it referred to as a fictitious, malicious and misguided group of disgruntled anti-party agents who erroneously assume the nomenclature, “stakeholders” have connived with members of the opposition to sow seeds of discord in our great party.

It said, “The purported stakeholders who hold no stake in the affairs of the APC in Cross River State have resorted to blackmail with the intent of courting the interest and support of genuine party faithful to cause disaffection and disintegration in the party.”

Unfortunately for the detractors, the party is built on solid principles, policies and procedures, embedded in the Party’s constitution which cannot be upturned by the whims and caprices of untoward personalities.

In the shabbily written letter, the baseless call is supposedly in the “overall interest, success and well being” of the party. This is not only laughable but calls for a mental assessment of the undersigned as facts and figures evident in the 2023 general elections and the just concluded rerun elections shows unequivocally that Eba Esq. has remained unreservedly focused in his devotion to the success of the party.

The results of his hard work is glaring as Cross River State is the only state in the South-South Geopolitical zone of the country with an APC Governor and highest number of political office holders in the region. This is no mean feat that not only deserves applause and accolades but unreserved apologies for the misguided attempt to tarnish his image and hard earned reputation as a result of anti party activities that led to the loss of two seats in the rerun elections.

We are not oblivious of the fact that these publications are calculated attempts to distract the Chairman, the Executive and Disciplinary Committees from the critical task of exposing and taking decisive action on all anti party elements in the state.

Suffice it to note that the State Chairman has the unwavering support of the State Executive members and all party structures across the 18 local government areas of the state and will not relent in the task of cleansing the party of all who seek to thwart the hardwork of well meaning party faithful.

In this age of universal literacy pursuit, it is sad that a bunch of persons who should know an iota of the structure and organs of the party and the procedure for discipline measures in the party could exhibit such wanton degree of illiteracy, ignorance and ignominy.

As a party, we will assist them by having an assessment of their mental state so that we can have them properly treated as their actions is everything but bereft of reason and common sense.

We seize the opportunity to thank the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu for his continued support to the State Chairman and the party across board and we pledge our continued dedication to the People’s First agenda of His government and our unreserved loyalty to him.

We urge all party faithful to treat these bunch of masquerades who commenced their silly and evil move as a faceless group but have now started to unmask themselves as comedians, clowns and over pampered adults seeking for attention/evil ploy to destroy the party but they have failed.
