SENATOR ODEY RECEIVES CROSS RIVERIANS IN THE DIASPORA ON A COURTESY VISIT

The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Stephen Odey Ph D, received members of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and the Steering Committee on Sports and Talent on Development of the Cross Riverians in the Diaspora (CRID) a social-cultural organisation comprised of passionate Cross Riverians around the world on a courtesy call today.

The group’s Chairperson, Dr Vivien Otu and some of her members thanked the Commissioner for the prompt response and granting their request as the groups upcoming activities in schools across the three Senatorial District of Cross River State includes conducting Essay Writing Competition, Sports and Talent hunt, with grand prices for the finalist. The visit was to seek the Commissioner’s approval and support as the Ministry will play a vital role in the achievements of the group’s set goal of catching them young in schools.

The Commissioner and his Management Staff commended the CRID Team, stating that he is very familiar with their activities in Cross River State and promised full collaboration and support of the Ministry, while applauding them for the wonderful initiative, as their programme will charge the students to become more competitive and study hard.
