The Deputy Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, and member representing Obudu State Constituency, Hon Sylvester Agabi Jnr on Wednesday visited the family of late Ukani Ewhenji Odey, and condoled with the family and the killing of their son during an alleged robbery attack in parts of Calabar South.
Hon Agabi Jnr, who expressed sadness over the killing of one of his constituent, Mr. Odey Michael Ewhenji, a final year student in the Department of Political Science, University of Calabar in the brutal robbery attack called for thorough investigation by the Nigeria Police Force Cross River State Command and apprehend the criminals.
The Deputy Speaker made the visit to the family residence at Utugwan Obudu LGA was in company of notable leaders and political actors including Elder PJ Ekunke, Hon. Odama Thomas Odama, Chief Ushie Uburu, Prof. James Okpiliya, Prof. Frank Okpoliya, Mr. Magnus Ekwetiong and Mr Nchor Kingsley.
During the visit, the Deputy Speaker, Hon Agabi Jnr assured the family of his support and prayed the Lord to comfort the family and give all the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
It would be recalled that a 400-level student of the Department of Political Science, University of (UNICAL), identified as Odey Michael Efenji was allegedly shot dead by a gang of armed robbers on Tuesday morning in Calabar.
It was gathered that security operatives have since swing into action and some suspects have been arrested.
