On the heels of Governor Bassey Otu’s victory as the duly elected governor of Cross River State which was affirmed by the Appeal Court’s dismissal of the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) appeal in Lagos yesterday.
Dr Hippolatus Lukpata Commissioner For International Donor Coordination in Cross River State on Wednesday disclosed that “the court’s decision not only validates Governor Otu’s election but also underscores the trust and confidence bestowed upon him by the people in a unanimous show of acceptance across the state.
Acknowledging the collective will of the people as affirmed the appellate court decision to throw out opposition case for lacking merit, Dr. Hippolatus Lukpata expressed joy in the court’s decision.
“This victory is not merely a personal achievement for All Progressives Congress alone but a cause for celebration for everyone who believes in the vision for a prosperous Cross River State”.
Dr Lukpata also expressed optimism that the government under His Excellency, Sen Prince Bassey Otu would continue being focused despite the distractions of the court brought by the major opposition in the state.
