The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Agambem has extended heartfelt congratulations to Governor Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu following his triumphant victory in a legal battle at the appeal court, where the judiciary upheld Governor Otu’s rightful election by the people of Cross River State.
Rt. Hon. Ayambem, lauding the judiciary as the hope for the common man, emphasized that the verdict not only signifies justice served but also reaffirms the trust the citizens of Cross River State have placed in their elected leader, the Governor.
Speaker Agambem urged the opposition to set aside their differences. He emphasized the need for collective efforts in fostering peace and harmony for the greater good of the state.
The Speaker plea for political maturity and a recognition that, beyond partisan lines, the well-being of Cross Riverians should remain a top priority with the “people’s first” mantra at the forefront.
